There it is! My fanart for the Unspeakable Vault of DOOM!
(a wonderful vault that you must see, for the love of Lovecraft! [link] )  Burger King in Yellow! Burger King...in Yellow. Burger...King in Yellow. Get it? No? Not a Cthulhu and co. fan heh? Well ok then, let's teach you the basics of this one! THIS (the yellow thing), my friend, is Hastur...but don't say his name, or your head'll go sbloorsh! Well...it's not really Hastur anyway, it's his avatar, the King in Yellow. Hastur is one of the Great Old Ones from Lovecraftian mythology but not created by Lovecraft himself. Still following? Good! Our good tentacular friend lives on Aldhebaran, near the Hyades...a bunch of very beautiful stars. His particularity is that he can drive people mad...with theatre...among other things. So...we have the King in Yellow and we have the infamous Burger King aaand...the two got a bit mixed up here. The result is a fast food chain driving customers insane as they enter and see the horrors that lurk behind the veil of reality...or the real way burgers are made. Either way, they won't return so...I don't think Burger King in Yellow will make a lot of money. Inspired A LOT by this strip: [link] and by discussions with fellow Call of Cthulhu players. |
